The Iguana Squad is a US 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that has, at its origin and in its future, the mission to assist the people of Belize through a variety of methods. More than 1000 people have participated as a member of one of The Iguana Squad teams since its inception in 2002. As of the summer of 2024, 58 mission teams have served with The Iguana Squad.

• The Iguana Squad started as a response to the need for the construction of educational spaces.

• In time, the opportunity and means for medical mission teams to care for typical health issues, and dental and vision needs of Belizeans materialized.

• Later, surgeons began treating Belizeans in-country for much-needed orthopedic needs.

• Those first three missions are still alive and imperative, and a new opportunity for teams has arisen, now that The Iguana Squad has a home base in Belize: La Paz Belize.
